Welcome to Starsite

This web location is devoted to astronomy. It displays images of celestial objects taken by Ted Wolfe at his observing site in southwest Florida and the new site at 8,000′ in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile.

The images are taken by using a charge coupled device (CCD) camera attached to either an Optical Guidance Systems 12 ½” Ritchey-Chretien telescope, a Televue NP101 4″ refractor, a Takahashi CCA-250 Astrograph, or more recently, a Planewave 12 1/2″ CDK astrograph.

We hope you enjoy the pictures, and that they increase your appreciation of the magnificent objects scattered throughout the night sky.

Many men walk by day, few walk by night.

It is a very different season.”

Henry David Thoreau
