VDB37 is one of the rarest kind of nebulas – a yellow one. The central star is HIP 24716. It is a giant, M spectral type (M211-111). Its magnitude is 7.04. Since an M star is like a low wattage bulb the nebulosity associated with it here has to be very close to the star. In fact its shape suggests that it is embroiled in it. The large size of the star also helps increase its total light output.
