This is OS2 in Orion. It is a cometary globule – a late stage nebula looking comet like. This one resembles a rocket going off its launch pad at Canaveral. The object was included in a list of 62 “remnant” molecular clouds assembled by the Japanese astronomers Katrsuo Ogura and Koji Sugitani in 1998.
