NGC6822 is known as Barnard’s Galaxy. It is an irregular galaxy that resembles the Magellanic Clouds. It lies only 1.6 million ly away, and is very small – about 7,000 ly in diameter. Note the maroon colored HII regions spotted here and there at the top.
