This is a planetary nebula in Cetus about 1600 ly away. It is sometimes labeled the “Skull Nebula”, a description that apparently uses the 2 left central stars as the “eyes”.
The central 12th magnitude dwarf star is actually a double, so close to its partner that it probably is a binary. Imagine the view of the planetary flushing off its material as seen from the companion star.
