NGC3324 is a large nebula in Carina. In this image it is flanked on its right by the open cluster NGC3293. The latter lies about 8,000 ly away. The blue/white stars in the cluster were born just 6 million years ago.
NGC3324 is sometimes called the Gabriela Mistrial Nebula, in honor of the famous Chilean woman poet. and contains a section that bears some resemblance to a photograph of her.
