An impressive planetary – Longmore 5 lies around -48 degrees down in Vela. Note the hydrogen blotches showing through in the outer ring. The central star is a striking blue. There is a small galaxy just outside the PN at about 10:00. Also note the interesting flare-like feature next to the bright orange star up on the left side of the image.
