NGC6753 lies well down in the constellation Pavo. While its distance is about 142 million ly away it is quite large so it still shows significant detail and good color. This massive, unbarred galaxy shows no signs of recent interactions with neighbors. Note there are about 1/2 dozen smaller galaxies in the background.
