This wide field image covers about 60% of the Small Magellanic Cloud. Note the reddish HII regions scattered throughout the body of the galaxy and the bright, young star cluster on the left. These features reflect the galaxy’s disturbance by the interactions with our own Milky Way and the Large Magellanic Cloud.
